One notable feature is the addition of Fuseform, a technology that uses a weaving process to blend thicker, more durable yarns with lighter, lower-density fibers in high-wear areas, reducing overall weight. This is combined with Gore-Tex to create a laminate never before used in technical woven materials, a first for both brands.

Another new addition to the collection is the ergonomic fit, designed to support movement during activities such as hiking or climbing, perfected by following feedback from athletes from previous seasons. Other highlights are the integrated interlayer pocket systems, helmet-compatible hood, neck radio pocket and checkered radio pocket with buckle.

With the launch of the collection comes the release of Ushba, a new film starring 2017 freeride champion Leo Slemett along with fellow North Face snow sports team members Sam Anthamatten and Markus Eder. The film sees the trio attempting to complete the first ski descent from Ushba Mountain in Svaneti, Georgia.

The mountainous landscape provided the perfect place to put the new collection to the test, with a wide variety of terrain and ski types, from steep skiing to freestyle to pillow lines.
